Today we took a look at the world as if it were a village of 100 people and tried to guess what the demographics would look like. We had our eyes opened a bit as to how different the world as a whole can look from how we see it through the lens of our own lives. We discussed the ways in which we will talk about culture and how it effects people and events this year.
Homework Due Monday 9/10: Read the article about the Nacerima peoples. Highlight/underline what they value. What do they find important? Why do they do the things they do? Do they seem primitive to you? Why? You do not need to include annotations this time but are encouraged to do so.
