Today we finished viewing Guns, Germs, and Steel. We also discussed The Shape of Africa and the effect of geography on Africa's development.

Today students shared their East and West Africa visuals and took some notes on the side they did not research. We then began viewing Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steel.

Today we finished our discussion on early development in Africa. If students had their Africa maps finished they were handed in. Final due date for this assignment will be Monday 2/25.

The following assignment was assigned today in class. This should not take more than 45 minutesish to complete and will be due Monday 2/25.

Students will read either the West Africa reading OR the East Africa reading and complete the above one page visual. Images can be hand drawn or printed. Information can also be typed.

Today we discussed and looked at examples of different note taking strategies as well as ways we can improve our critical reading. We also began our discussion on Diverse Societies in Africa. We will finish on Monday due to the early release causing shorter periods today.
